A lightweight and responsive racing flat with a hint of support, the New Balance 1500 series has become known as a premier racing choice for the mild overpronator. With the 3rd installment, the shoe has several small changes to improve performance while still maintaining the essence of what made the original so popular.
Continuing to deliver light support, the 1500 v3 utilizes a high density medial post along with a T-Beam unit for sufficient mild stability on race day.
Paired with a slightly updated Revlite midsole, the shoe should still provide the same cushioned, responsive ride as past versions. The new shoe will also have a very similar no-sew upper design that features Fantom Fit technology for a lightweight, supportive fit.
While the upper and midsole features mostly aesthetic changes, there are more noticeable changes to the outsole. The shoe shape remains the same but it now utilizes a stickier rubber material with a new arrow shaped lug design. The new shape has larger lugs than previous versions and should provide more durability. Some small changes in flex groove layout should also have a small impact on the ride but overall don’t expect a huge difference in performance.
