After experiencing quite the bandwagon following in the earlier parts of , the celebrated re-issue of the Nike Air Max 98 will continue its winning ways with several new colorways later this year. From basic GR-style offerings to the more emphatic styles like the “Desert Camo” and Snakeskin, the Air Max 98 is certainly looking to repeat the success of its predecessor, the Air Max 97.
The Tidal Wave aka South Beach is releasing this month and more colorways for the silhouette are still on the way for its 20th anniversary. Featured in a total crimson theme, the runner sports a mixture of wolf grey and dark grey throughout mesh, leather and synthetic upper, followed by total crimson used for the laces, mini Swooshes and visible Air Max cushioning. Finally, a dark grey outsole completes the design altogether.
Next up for the silhouette is this attractive women’s exclusive selection. Dressed primarily in Sail, Igloo accents come into play to give the sneaker some added flare. Igloo hits can be found inside the translucent Air bubble, on elements of the Nike branding, and on its lace loops keeping the unit in place. In typical 98 fashion reflective piping has been added to this offering as well, giving it a touch of glow when under the right light.
Back in the middle of March, we introduced you to four new versions of the silhouette, including the Sepia Stone-colored “Snakeskin” variety that you see here. Ushering in a simplistic color scheme, its namesake comes from the scaly make-up that you see on its mudguard. Snakeskin has dressed up this particular silhouette in Nike’s arsenal in the past, as it highlighted 2016’s four-piece Supreme collection in another “Sail” color scheme. This time around, the reptile print is much more subtle than the aforementioned Supreme partnership, but it still adds a touch of luxury to the increasingly popular Air Max model.
